Z-Wave Home Automation Devices
Z-Wave is a low-power mesh network where devices communicate with each other via sub-GHz radio waves (868.42MHz in Europe/UK), with much longer ranges available compared to those of Wi-Fi devices.
Similar to Zigbee, although offering enhanced security and greater device certification, it's ideal for home automation as communication between devices is reliable, not impacted by other devices on the network or internet connectivity (Wi-Fi), power consumption is very low and much greater distances can be achieved.
A compatible/certified Z-Wave hub is required to use Z-Wave devices, such as the Home Assistant Connect ZWA-2 or options from Zooz available in the store. We also stock the full range of Shelly Z-Wave ('Shelly Wave') devices within our dedicated Home Automation section.
See the Z-Wave Alliance website for more information.
