The SenseCAP S2110 Sensor Builder is an open-source development tool designed for building industrial-grade MODBUS RS-485 sensors using Grove modules. With an IP66-rated enclosure and support for the range of Grove sensors (twelve natively), it allows developers to quickly create custom sensors for IoT applications.
At its core is the Seeed XIAO RP2040, a dual-core ARM Cortex M0+ processor, with one Grove and one RS485 connector. Twelve Grove sensors are already supported by the native firmware, with more being added. Developers can build outdoor-ready sensors by pairing the S2110 with a Grove sensor and connecting it to a SenseCAP Data Logger, enabling integration with the SenseCAP Cloud in under five minutes via Bluetooth.
The device is also compatible with third-party MODBUS RS-485 sensors and IoT platforms. All configuration and data monitoring are handled through the SenseCAP Mate App and SenseCAP Portal, while a USB-C port supports firmware uploads and serial monitoring.
The S2110 includes a mounting panel and outdoor-rated case, making it suitable for direct field deployment.
SenseCAP Data Logger and USB-C cable not included.
Twelve sensors are currently supported by the native firmware (see list below), however, if you would like to build a LoRaWAN sensor with Grove sensors which are not currently supported in the list below, or build with third-party sensors with a Grove or RS485 connectors, please refer to the guidance here.
