The SenseCAP S2100 LoRaWAN Data Logger is a rugged and adaptable industrial-grade data acquisition unit designed to transmit sensor data to a LoRaWAN network. With support for MODBUS-RTU RS485, analog (4–20mA/0–10V), and GPIO (level or pulse) sensors, it offers broad compatibility with industrial and environmental monitoring equipment. Its single-channel design allows it to operate with one interface at a time, making it ideal for specialised deployments.

This device is engineered for harsh outdoor environments, featuring an IP66-rated enclosure and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The internal 19Ah lithium battery supports up to 10 years of operation, while an optional 12V DC input can be used for primary power, with the internal battery acting as a backup. Communication is handled via LoRaWAN® v1.0.3, and the S2100 supports global frequency bands (863–928MHz), offering a typical range of up to 2km in urban environments and up to 10km line-of-sight.

Setup and configuration are straightforward thanks to built-in Bluetooth and the SenseCAP Mate App, which supports OTA (over-the-air) updates and remote configuration. Combined with the SenseCAP Portal, users can manage devices, data, and access keys from a web-based dashboard. MQTT and HTTP APIs are also available for further integration and development.

Reliability has been a major focus in the S2100’s design, with six types of durability testing conducted during development - including temperature cycling, waterproofing, and long-range performance - to ensure the unit performs consistently in field conditions.

The S2100 also supports expansion via the SenseCAP S2110 Sensor Builder, allowing you to connect Grove Sensors directly for rapid prototyping or small-scale LoRaWAN deployments. This opens up DIY possibilities using Seeed's existing Grove ecosystem, without requiring custom code or hardware changes.
