The SeeedRS485 Vision AI Camera combines powerful edge AI processing with industrial-grade connectivity and durability. At its core is a dual-chip system: the ESP32-C3 (XIAO) handles system control, while the Himax WiseEye2 HX6538 processor - featuring dual-core Arm Cortex-M55 and Ethos-U55 NPU - performs on-device visual inference at 480×480 resolution and 10 FPS. Designed to send only inference results, the camera ensures minimal bandwidth use and enhanced data privacy, with optional keyframe transmission via Wi-Fi when required.
This unit comes preloaded with three models for human detection, people counting, and meter reading, and supports quick deployment of 300+ models via the SenseCraft AI platform. Developers can also deploy their own TensorFlow or PyTorch-based models. The RS-485 interface allows direct integration into Modbus-based systems, while connectivity can be extended over LoRaWAN or 4G using a SenseCAP S2100 or Sensor Hub DTUs.
With its IP66-rated enclosure, the camera is built to endure tough outdoor or dusty industrial environments. Configuration is simple through the SenseCraft App, where users can manage models and adjust confidence thresholds. This makes it a practical choice for deploying AI vision tasks such as object detection or classification in environments where wired industrial protocols and data privacy are essential.
