We're seeing RJ11 cables being used more and more in the maker world - from the Elecfreaks range of micro:bit components to RJ11 breakouts for passing signals and power. There's even a SparkFun MicroMod Weather Carrier board that uses them!
They're also exceptionally handy for their original intended purpose, of course, as a cable for your modem!
These cables are 6P4C, i.e. 4 connections only, which is the norm for RJ11. If you're after a 6-connection version, what you really need is an RJ12 cable (same connector, more connections!).
