Pi-hole is quickly becoming one of the most popular Raspberry Pi projects due to the growing number of obtrusive advertisements being placed on websites, making browsing slow, clunky and frustrating. Pi-hole blocks adverts before they are downloaded from the advertiser network/website, improving your network performance, reducing bandwidth usage and crucially speeding up page load times. Pi-hole also helps to block advertisements in other places such as mobile apps and smart TVs, where traditional ad-blocking apps aren't available/effective.

Not only that, with the detailed responsive web interface you can choose to block entire domains (such as tracking services) to enhance your online privacy. This is also handy for blocking domains for parental control. Use the dashboard to adjust settings and monitor statistics, or alternatively use the command-line interface for various functions. There's even an API for stats too! With lots of other useful features and advanced configuration for power users, Pi-hole is a must-have for anyone wanting more control over their network, pesky ads and online privacy!

This kit includes our exclusive Pi-hole FLIRC Raspberry Pi 4 case. This case has an aluminium core heat sink that is sandwiched between two black, soft-touch shells. The aluminium body fixes to your Pi 4's CPU (via a thermal pad), dissipating heat through the body keeping your board cool, clean and silent as there's no need for fans.

Important Notes

• We provide the 32GB MicroSD card with Raspberry Pi OS pre-installed, all you need to do is run the 1-step automated install in a terminal window, then configure your router (you will need a USB keyboard/mouse to do this)
• Pi-hole cannot block YouTube adverts and other 'in content' style ads
• This kit includes a UK power supply

FAQ

Why don't you sell a Raspberry Pi 5 version of this kit? Quite simply, the Raspberry Pi 5 is overpowered for the relatively light task of running Pi-hole. We continue to use a Raspberry Pi 4 2GB board in this kit as it offers more than enough grunt to do the job, and costs less than the Raspberry Pi 5, keeping the price down.
