This CM5 carrier board from Waveshare gives you most of the essential ports and breakouts you'll need for most CM5 development projects, from screenage to servers and everything in between.
The board is ultra-compact - essentially the same footprint as the Compute Module 5 - yet packs in a long list of features. All the essentials are covered: power and programming are handled via USB-C, Mini-HDMI gives you display options, the Gigabit Ethernet port offers wired connectivity, and a USB 3.2 Gen1 port gives you options for peripherals or storage.
On top of that, you have RTC and fan headers, which match the spec used on Raspberry Pi 5, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack port, MicroSD slot and PCIe interface (again the same spec as the Pi 5 PCIe interface). A dual MIPI interface allows the connection of DSI displays or CSI cameras.
A few final features to note are the BOOT and power buttons, a user-programmable button, LED indicators and, of course, central pads to access the GPIO pins (with a colour-coded 40-pin header included, but requires soldering to the board).
