The Chain Angle is a Chain-series potentiometer knob module with up to 12-bit ADC output and an RGB status LED. It supports UART cascading via dual HY2.0-4P ports, ideal for HMI control, smart home inputs and speed control projects.
The Chain Angle is a potentiometer knob input node in the M5Stack Chain series, designed for analogue control in interactive projects. As you rotate the knob, the voltage at the sampling terminal changes within a fixed range. The onboard MCU then converts this signal using ADC and outputs a value with up to 12-bit resolution, making it useful for accurate, adjustable input.
A programmable RGB LED is also integrated for clear status indication and interactive visual feedback. This makes the Chain Angle a good fit for applications such as human–machine interfaces, smart home systems, and motor speed control.
The module is built around the STM32G031G8U6 MCU and uses a UART serial cascade communication protocol. With two HY2.0-4P expansion ports, it can be easily daisy-chained with additional Chain series devices to create more complex and feature-rich interactive systems.
