The Chain Joystick is a high-precision Hall effect joystick module with X/Y analogue input, Z-axis key input, RGB status LED and Chain-series expansion support — ideal for robot control and interactive projects.
The Chain Joystick is a high-precision Hall effect joystick input node in the M5Stack Chain series. It supports three-axis control, with analogue input on the X and Y axes and a digital key input on the Z axis. By using a Hall effect joystick to detect changes in magnetic fields, it delivers accurate, responsive control without physical contact.
This non-contact design provides excellent wear resistance, high accuracy and strong immunity to interference, helping ensure stable performance and a long service life. A programmable RGB LED is also built in, allowing clear status indication and interactive visual feedback.
The Chain Joystick is well suited to applications such as human–machine interfaces, robot control, and other interactive control systems.
At its core, the device integrates an STM32G031G8U6 microcontroller and uses a UART-based serial cascading communication protocol. With two HY2.0-4P expansion ports, it can be easily connected to other Chain series modules, making it simple to build more complex and feature-rich interactive setups.
