The SenseCAP S2105 is a LoRaWAN soil sensor designed to measure volumetric water content (0–100%), soil temperature (–40 to 80 °C), and electrical conductivity (EC) (0–23 dS/m). Soil EC is a key indicator of salinity, which directly affects crop yield, nutrient availability, and microbial activity. The sensor’s precision and reliability make it well-suited for a range of environmental and agricultural monitoring applications.
Built for demanding outdoor deployments, the S2105 features an IP66-rated enclosure, a wide operating temperature range of –40 to 85 °C, and a communication range of up to 10 km in open environments (2 km in urban settings). It’s battery-powered using a replaceable 19Ah Li-SOCl₂ cell with a maximum life of 10 years. That makes it quick to deploy and low-maintenance compared to wired alternatives.
The device supports LoRaWAN v1.0.3 Class A and works with a wide range of public and private LoRaWAN networks across the 863–928 MHz band. Setup and configuration are handled via the SenseCAP Mate mobile app using built-in Bluetooth, with no need for coding or complex tools. OTA updates are also supported.
For broader deployments and network integration, Seeed provides a full ecosystem, including the SenseCAP Portal for device and data management, and an open API for development. The S210X line, including the S2105, is validated against multiple stress tests including waterproofing, temperature cycling, and long-range transmission integrity.

* Every single device can support 7 frequency plans.
** This wireless LoRaWAN sensor supports up to 10 years of battery life, but the actual battery life varies from data upload interval, data payload, and distance between gateways.
** We have updated the battery life table, which should provide you with a better estimate of the actual battery life of your device. We recommend that you refer to the updated table when making any judgment or decision related to the battery life of your device.
S210x Devices are manufactured to support the universal frequency plan from 863MHz ~928MHz in one SKU. That is to say, every single device can support the frequency plans below - the sensor can be switched to other frequency plans at any time:
Frequency Plan | Common Name | Sub-band |
EU863-870 | EU868 | – |
US902-928 | US915 | Sub-band from 1 to 8 |
AU915-928 | AU915 | Sub-band from 1 to 8 |
AS923 | AS923 | AS923_1, AS923_2, AS923_3, AS923_4 |
IN865-867 | IN865 | – |
KR920-923 | KR920 | – |
RU864-867 | RU864 | – |
The frequency plan setting is none by default, and it will not transmit RF signal until it has been set by the app via Bluetooth at the first power-up. And it can be changed to other frequency plans at any time.
