The SenseCAP S2102 is a LoRaWAN® sensor designed for precise measurement of light intensity in outdoor and industrial environments. It measures from 0 to 160000 lux with ±5% accuracy and a 1 lux resolution, making it suitable for a wide range of monitoring applications. The device includes built-in Bluetooth for quick setup and OTA (Over-the-Air) updates via the SenseCAP Mate app, streamlining deployment without any coding.

Housed in an IP66-rated enclosure and supporting an operating temperature from -40°C to +85°C, the S2102 is engineered for harsh conditions including direct sunlight, rain, dust, and humidity. It transmits over LoRaWAN® networks with a range of up to 2km in urban areas and 10km in line-of-sight environments. Its power-efficient design runs on a replaceable 19Ah Li-SOCl2 battery (ER34615), delivering up to 10 years of operation.

The S2102 supports LoRaWAN® frequency plans between 863MHz and 928MHz and is compatible with a variety of LoRaWAN® gateways, including The Things Network, Chirpstack, and Seeed’s own SenseCAP M2 Gateway.

The unit has been validated through multiple reliability tests, including extreme temperature cycling, waterproofing, freezing, and long-range transmission trials, ensuring consistent performance across its operational lifespan.

LoRaWAN Frequency

S210x Devices are manufactured to support the universal frequency plan from 863MHz ~928MHz in one SKU. That is to say, every single device can support the frequency plans below - the sensor can be switched to other frequency plans at any time:

The frequency plan setting is none by default, and it will not transmit RF signal until it has been set by the app via Bluetooth at the first power-up. And it can be changed to other frequency plans at any time.
