  • Reserved control pins, allows working with other control boards

RS485 CAN HAT for Raspberry Pi
Connected it with an RS485 laser distance sensor and it worked very easily using simple serial code in Python on a pi zero 2 w. The advantage of this board over others is that the transmit / receive flow control is handled by the board. To get data from the laser sensor a request command had to be sent, the sensor then sends an immediate reply so the flow control was important in my case.

RS485 CAN HAT for Raspberry Pi
These are great value boards and easy to setup. I use several of these boards for CAN bus monitoring/control applications on a pi zero to replace an expensive alternative. Programming is with a python library or in C with socket CAN interfaces in the kernel.
