The Raspberry Pi Smart Display Module is an adapter board for Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5) that enables you to integrate your CM5 into products that conform to the Intel® Smart Display Module (SDM) standard, with no external cabling or power source required. Typically used for digital signage, it is ideal for applications such as flight information display systems (FIDS), wayfinding, retail and corporate signage, and industrial displays.
The Smart Display Module slots directly into products that support Intel’s standard, drawing power from the host device itself. The included heatsink fits within the SDM-L form factor to conduct heat away from Compute Module 5.
The module also provides HDMI output to support a second, independent video stream, and an M.2 expansion slot for optional AI acceleration or high-speed storage. The edge connector also features USB-A 3.0, USB-C 2.0 (programming only), Gigabit Ethernet, 22-way DSI/CSI connector, support for the Raspberry Pi Antenna Kit, and an RTC with CR2032 battery socket.
The module can also be paired with projectors that support Intel SDM to power applications including exhibits and immersive experiences.
