Incredible little piece of kit - got this running off an Ikea battery bank for completely portable in-the-field soldering.

Miniware TS101 Smart Soldering Iron
Light weight, quick to set up and use as well as being highly portable. The TS101 has the additional benefit of having two ways of powering it, either via DC and a barrel jack, or by USB-C and a power source than uses power delivery (PD).
The OLED display is bright and clear to view.
Within less than a 1min 30 seconds, I had the iron unpacked and heated up ready to go. There are many alternative soldering tips and they’re quick to swap. (Just make sure it has cooled so you do not burn yourself).
You are able to customise the temperature it heats to initially and is easy to adjust on the fly. I owned the TS100, (it’s predecessor), and it was excellent, the TS101 is even better!

Miniware TS101 Smart Soldering Iron
My existing soldering iron claimed to get to 480 degrees Celsius, the iron temperature tester I used said it was only delivering 370 degrees or so. I needed at least 400 degrees for the enamelled wire I am using . The TS101 indicated 400 degrees and that worked well with melting the enamel off the wire. The TS101 is small, heats up quickly and is great to use on small parts. I use a USB-C PD Charger and that works fine. Oh.. and Pi delivered it very quickly at a great price.

Miniware TS101 Smart Soldering Iron
Great product, however I have had some trouble with the default tip, even at max voltage and power, and on the highest temp, it was struggling to melt solder, only able to at the very base of the tip (the widest bit) and nowhere near the point. I bought a TS-D24 tip however, which I had great success with. It may be that my original one had a faulty thermistor, or it may be a heat transfer issue.

Great soldering iron, heats up insanely quickly, feels pretty well made.
Only downside is that there is no stand included which would have been nice.
