The LAN Module 13.2 serves as an ethernet controller equipped with the W5500 hardware TCP/IP embedded ethernet controller. It communicates via an SPI interface and supports TCP, UDP, IPv4, and other protocols to cater to a range of application needs including industrial automation, Internet of Things (IoT), data acquisition, and remote monitoring.
The module features a built-in W5500 controller that manages ethernet data packets through an integrated storage buffer area efficiently. For signal integrity and electromagnetic interference mitigation, it includes a signal-isolated gigabit transformer that translates input signals from the RJ45 interface into proper output signals.
For power management, it is equipped with a DC-JACK interface supporting 9-24V and includes a DC-DC buck circuit that ensures a stable power supply. The design includes a built-in jumper pin for chip selection, enabling the stacking of two modules for enhanced ethernet connectivity. Additionally, it offers a VH3.96 interface to facilitate the integration of extra expansion devices, thereby enhancing its adaptability for specific requirements.
Beyond serving as an Ethernet controller, the module is versatile in applications such as Ethernet-to-AP conversion, operating as a lightweight web server, and functioning as an RS485-to-Ethernet Data Transmission Unit (DTU).
