The DDSM315 is a direct‑drive servo motor built as a single integrated unit, combining an outer‑rotor brushless Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), a 12‑bit encoder, and a high‑performance servo drive. It’s compact, easy to mount, and runs steadily, making it a reliable choice for small AGVs, balance vehicles, and robotics platforms. With an IP54 protection rating, it is also shielded against dust and water splashes for better durability in real-world environments.

It can spin up to 315±10 RPM with no load, or settle into a rated 200 RPM with 0.55 Nm of torque. The motor utilizes Field Oriented Control (FOC) and supports three distinct operating modes: Velocity, Position, and Current (Torque) loops. This versatility allows you to switch between precise speed maintenance, exact angular positioning, or specific force application depending on your project needs.

The driver includes on‑board diagnostics and provides real-time telemetry back to your controller, including temperature, position, velocity, and current feedback. It is also designed to support suspension installation, making it easier to integrate into advanced chassis designs. To jumpstart your development, there is an open‑source four‑wheel‑drive off‑road vehicle model available for this motor.

These motors feature two connectors: one for power (2-pin XH2.54) and one for RS485 data communication (4-pin ZH1.5). We also stock the Waveshare DDSM Hub Motor Driver Board, perfectly matched to drive these servo motors.
