The AS7343 is a 14-channel multi-purpose spectral sensor. It is optimized for reflective, transmissive and emissive measurements including colour matching, fluid or reagent analysis or general spectral reconstruction. It can detect 14 spectral channels - 12 in the visible spectrum (VIS) to near-infrared (NIR) range, a clear channel and flicker channel.

This I2C breakout is compatible with our modular Breakout Garden system, which is designed to make working with breakouts straightforward - just pop it into a Breakout Garden slot and start to grow your project, create, and code. It's also Qw/ST compatible, which means it can be connected up to any microcontroller or add-on with a Qwiic or STEMMA QT connector using a Qw/ST cable - no soldering required!

Note: this sensor is complex and you will likely need to study the datasheet and the documentation for an understanding of how it works. We've spun up some basic examples to show you how you can get raw numbers from the sensor, but additional work will be required to convert this into useful data like RGB values. Some uses may require calibration of the sensor and the addition of a diffuser layer, which is not included in our breakout.
