The SupTronics X1005 is a compact dual-NVMe expansion board for Raspberry Pi 5, allowing you to attach two M.2 SSDs in 2280, 2260, 2242 or 2230 formats. It uses a PCIe 2.0 interface with support for transfer speeds up to 5Gbps.
The board connects to your Raspberry Pi 5's PCIe interface and uses an ASmedia ASM1182e PCIe switch chip to facilitate data transfer between the two PCIe interfaces it provides, with PCIe Gen2 support.
It mounts underneath the Raspberry Pi 5, keeping the GPIO header clear for other add-ons. With nothing on top of your Raspberry Pi, the design also compliments the use of a Raspberry Pi Active Cooler or other top-mounted coolers and hardware.
The board includes mounting holes and standoffs to secure both SSDs while helping with heat dissipation. Onboard LEDs show drive read/write activity at a glance.

As with all M.2 NVMe adapters for Raspberry Pi 5, certain models of M.2 NVMe SSD (usually with a Phison controller) are best avoided due to compatibility issues.
The following models have been highlighted by SupTronics as having poor compatibility, however other online resources will highlight further models/brands to avoid:
