The ShellyWave Door/Window LR is a Z-Wave Long Range sensor that detects and reports opening or closing of doors/windows, measures tiltangle and features a light sensor to trigger smart home automations even over large distances.
Set-up is simple with SmartStart, so it is ready to add with a quick scan, and it supports associations, OTA firmware updates, and S2 Authenticated security with AES128 encryption. It will work with any home automation system that supports Z-Wave - including Home Assistant - although you'll need a Long Range' compatible receiver to enable LR features - such as the Home Assistant ZWA-2.
Powered via a single CR2032 battery (included) and lasting for up to 2 years thanks to the low-power Z-Wave protocol, this sensor is compact and minimal, offering a clean and subtle way to automate your home. It's a practical fit for everyday automations such as adjusting heating, ventilation and air conditioning based on whether a door or window is open. You can even mount it inside some window frames (dependant on your specific frame) for an invisible installation.
Works with all certified Z-Wave Gateways
Once installed, include it in your Z-Wave network (Z-Wave gatewayis required) and control it from anywhere using your smartphone or tablet. Shelly Wave devices work with over 4000 Z-Wave-certified devices and gateways.
To take advantage of the Z-Wave Long Range feature, you will need a Long Range compatible receiver - such as theHome Assistant ZWA-2.
