Retro-Bit’s Platinum Collection of retro-inspired controllers has arrived in the 8-bit era with the Origin8, compatible with USB-enabled devices, original or 3rd-party NES consoles and even the Raspberry Pi(software-dependant, manual button mapping may be required).
It takes inspiration from the classic NES® era of gaming but is re-engineered to accommodate 4-shoulder buttons, Home, and Screenshot buttons. The included Turbo switches will alleviate thumb stress as you rapid-fire your way through the classics.
You will also experience a stable 2.4 GHz wireless connection with the included USB wireless receiver that supports compatibility with most USB®-enabled devices, providing a retro experience on today’s consoles to relive our gaming origins. The controller also comes with a NES® Receiver for using with your original or 3rd-party NES console!
The controller has a 500mAh battery built-in and comes with a USB-C charging cable.

FAQ
What is a “Platinum Collection” controller? Any controller of ours carrying the Platinum Collection callout is one we have designed, developed, and tested in-house. It is through our passion for quality retro gaming controllers that we continue to develop and pay homage to the classics.
Will the NES receiver be sold separately? At the moment, there are no plans to do this. We will be publishing a compatibility list in the near future for those that wish to try some of our other V2 controllers on the NES.
What does the controller come with? Included are the controller, USB-C® charge cable, NES® wireless receiver, USB wireless receiver, and an instruction manual.
How is it powered? It has a Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery that offers up to 15-20 hours of gameplay (25-30 without rumble) and can fully charge in 1-2 hours.
What is the NES receiver compatible with? From our testing, all original NES (NTSC and PAL) consoles are compatible with it as well as most 3rd party consoles. This includes the Analogue Mini Nt, the Super Retro Trio, Retro Duo, and many more. Users have also reported compatibility with certain Atari consoles as well.
What is the USB receiver compatible with? The Retro-Bit USB wireless receiver is compatible with PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch. Various USB-capable devices such as Android tablets and Raspberry Pis are also compatible. Users have also reported compatibility with MiSTer FPGA, various mini consoles, and controller converters such as those made by Brook.
Does it have rumble? As it was developed with the NES and its library on the NSO service in mind, as such, rumble is not one of the features.
How do the Turbo switches work? It is as simple as flipping a switch! Turn it on for the A and/or B buttons and you can press down on the button for rapid-fire inputs. Please note that each console and title may interact differently with quick inputs.
Will I be able to connect other Retro-Bit 2.4 GHz controllers to these receivers? It will be on a case-by-case basis and the initial button layout may not be ideal, but this is definitely possible already with other V2 controllers.
