Break out your Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5's vital interfaces and more, including a PCIe M.2 M.2 M-Key slot, with this Mini Compute Module 5 carrier/breakout from Waveshare.
This breakout board is designed for Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5, breaking commonly used interfaces to allow you to use your CM5 for development, projects, or even as a desktop PC.
All the essentials are available - a full-size HDMI port (and another available via FFC), Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 3.0 ports (and USB 2.0 available via FFC), USB-C input for power and programming, and a MicroSD slot.
In addition, the board also features dual MIPI CSI/DSI interfaces, PCIe M.2 NVMe slot (M-Key) for 2230 or 2242 M.2 devices such as SSDs, RTC battery holder, 4-pin fan header, Power/BOOT buttons and a dual-colour indication LED.
To top it off, advanced users will appreciate the onboard CAT24C32 EEPROM and ATSHA204 encryption chip, both connected via I2C.
With all the above features sitting on a familiar Raspberry Pi-esque footprint, this board is going to be an excellent companion for the majority of CM5 projects.
