This low-profile fan and aluminium alloy bracket assembly is a great way to keep your Raspberry Pi 4 cool without expanding the size of your project.

Powered via the Pi's GPIO pins, the fan uses just 20mA to run and uses the Raspberry Pi's 5V and GND GPIO pins to operate. The aluminium bracket makes direct contact (via the included thermal tape) to the Raspberry Pi CPU, RAM, USB and Ethernet chips to keep the entire system cool.

Version Options

Two versions of this item are now available (select option above).

The standard version comes with the aluminium alloy bracket, fan, thermal tape, fixings and a small screwdriver.

The unit is also available with a GPIO adapter as well, for adding HATs and add-on boards above the fan assembly.

Low-Profile Cooling Fan & Bracket for Raspberry Pi 4 With GPIO Adapter
Excellent cooling solution for Pi3B or Pi4, though the fan is a little more audible than you would like. However simple solution is to split the connector and connect to the 3.3v power line and not the 5v line. Fan is then virtually inaudible yet still keeps the Pi cool.

Low-Profile Cooling Fan & Bracket for Raspberry Pi 4 No GPIO Adapter
This is a nice little unit, for such a small piece of kit it has a nice weight to it which is a good thing because that means more thermal mass as well. It's mostly metal and is well-made with a decent sized fan on top. My Pi 4 is embedded into my 3D printer and with just a heatsink was regularly reaching 55-60°C in operation, with the fan it runs at 35-40°C so a good 20°C difference and I'm running it below the usual speed - see below. I have a couple of minor quibbles but they are so minor that I think it still warrants five stars. First, running it from the 5V GPIO pin as supplied was a bit loud but as others have suggested running it from the 3.3V pin instead keeps the sound level down and doesn't seem to reduce the cooling by much. It will reduce the cooling effect but in my instance it was a compromise that I can easily make and it just requires a single pin DuPont style shell, a craft knife and some magnification, all of which I had. Second, the screws supplied were a bit short. As I'm mounting it on a self-designed bracket that wasn't a surprise and I was able to remove enough material to make them fit but if you're not using a standard mount this may be an issue for you as well. The threads in the bracket to accept the screws are fairly deep so slightly longer screws wouldn't be an issue even for standard mounts, but they have to keep the cost down to be able to sell them at this price so fair enough. For any standard enclosure they probably fit just fine. Lastly, the supplied thermal pads are of different thicknesses so some guidance as to which chips get which pads would have been a bit of a time saver, but a few minutes with a pair of calipers made it fairly obvious. As I said, I consider the above to be very minor and overall I am very pleased with my purchase and think that it's great value for money. Running a Pi 4 with no heatsink will get you thermally throttled in a matter of minutes and just a heatsink doesn't seem to be much better, this unit will keep your Pi 4 running happily for hours. Can heartily recommend it.

Good cooler . Keeps my 🎩 Mirror cool. I modified it to use 3v due to noise.

This is my 3rd Fan. It is slightly noisy at 5v, but where I have them they are not heard. The Fan fits the Pi3B+ easily with supplied screws. First 2 have been in service for nearly 12 months and no issues.

Great little unit to cool the Pi. It uses the mounting holes on a 3b in order to fit it to the device, so if you have a case that you need to screw in your Pi, bear this in mind. The fan is small and, of course, adds some noise to your setup but does the job it's intended for; cooling. The power for the fan is taken from the pin header and the lead is just long enough to plug it in. Ideal for the application I got it for as the noise isn't an issue.

It keeps the cpu very cool 39c but it comes with a price, fan noise but if you connect the + side to the 3 volt pin the noise is reduced by 60% @43c

Bought 5 of these and they all work fine. Each pack comes with an array of different thickness heat conductive pads, but as there are no instructions you have to guess which pad to use. I opted for the thickest one. The metal plate is attached using the provided M2 bolts. For my application, these were too short (using them with a din rail mount). so had to source some longer ones. I'm seeing a temperature drop of around 8 degrees C. The fans seem quiet and the whole assembly seems well made.
