This is the HiFiBerry Studio DAC8X for Raspberry Pi 5, offering 8 balanced outputs on a DB25 connector using the TASCAM layout. If your mixer or amplifier doesn’t offer DB25, adapter cables to XLR or 1/4″ jacks are widely available.
The Studio DAC8X features four high-quality Burr-Brown DACs (192kHz / 24-bit) for clear, detailed multi-channel audio. The board connects directly to your Pi 5 without any additional cables and draws its power from the Pi itself - no external power supply required.
Installation is simple and requires no soldering. The board arrives fully assembled and includes all necessary mounting hardware, including four M2.5×12mm spacers to secure it to your Raspberry Pi. It’s fully HAT-compliant with onboard EEPROM for automatic configuration.
To ensure the best possible audio performance, the board is equipped with four ultra-low-noise linear voltage regulators. This is a straightforward solution for expanding the Raspberry Pi’s audio output to professional-grade, balanced 8-channel sound.
