The Grove - GPS module is a cost-efficient and field-programmable gadget armed with a SIM28 module and serial communication configuration, providing a precise, sensitive, low power GPS module for position recognition anywhere in the world.
If you put your Raspberry Pi or Arduino in the wild, can you track its location? If you had this GPS module you could!
The module features a 22 tracking / 66 acquisition channels GPS receiver. The sensitivity of tracking and acquisition both reach up to -160dBm, making it a great choice for personal navigation projects and location services.
The module comes complete with an antenna and Grove cable.
How do GPS modules work?
GPS modules contain tiny processors and antennas that directly receive data sent by satellites through dedicated RF frequencies. From there, it’ll receive timestamps from each visible satellite, along with other pieces of data. If the module’s antenna can spot 4 or more satellites, it’s able to accurately calculate its position and time.
