This 12-bit Magnetic Sensor is a contactless sensor that has precise position tracking. Unlike traditional potentiometers or encoders, it provides several key advantages: high precision, no contact wear, and no limitation on rotation angles. It uses the Hall effect to detect the position of a magnet, making it suitable for various projects such as robot arms, motor control, and machine tool positioning. It can connect to Arduino boards and others.
This sensor communicates via the I2C interface, and you can also program it to output analogue or PWM signals, providing great flexibility. With the help of 12 bit A/D, it can detect 4096 positions per full rotation, which gives smooth and accurate angular measurements. The module is easy to integrate into existing systems, especially with its compatibility with the Grove ecosystem, making it an ideal choice if you are looking for ease of use in projects like industrial control or robotics.
Note: The AS5600 has certain requirements for the magnetic field to be measured. Please use a magnet similar in size to the chip. The module should be measured as close as possible to the magnetic field and the AS5600 sensor center should be aligned with the center of the magnetic field. The vertical distance is preferably from 0.5 mm to 3 mm.
