With the DIY Spider Robot, you can design and manufacture your own robotic creature!

The vivid DIY robotic spider with eight multi-jointed legs accurately duplicates the walking movement of a real spider. There are two assembly choices for you to change the stride length and gait of the spider.

The DIY Spider Robot gives you a great chance to learn about robotic science, regardless of your age. You'll never run out of ways to have fun as a child with the Spider. Children also can experience joy and achievement assembling the robot, which can help to cultivate their innovation and intelligence.

Want to go further? Why not consider adding your own microcontroller and motor driver, allowing you to control the spider in different ways, adding more functionality!

Note: Requires 1xAA battery (not included). We recommend 1.5V Alkaline AA cells but it will still work (albeit slower) with a 1.2V rechargeable AA battery.

Kept my 10 year old grandaughter enetertained. "This is wicked". I would say a younger child would need help to assemble..

Bought for a six year old, who could do most of the assembly. Once built, he thought it was great. The one drawback is it runs pretty slowly with a NiMH rechargeable battery as this only puts out about 1.2V instead of the 1.5V of a standard one.

I had a great time with both my daughters (5 & 8 yo) when assembling (and then playing) with this "spider" robot. It was really easy to assemble (easier than most of Lego sets).
