The CAMS3 is a compact camera module built on the ESP32S3 platform, ideal for projects requiring WiFi-based cloud image transmission. It comes with 8MB of PSRAM and 16MB of Flash memory and is equipped with a custom 5-megapixel PY260 camera with an 88° DFOV (Display field of view), capable of capturing images at a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944. For storage, it includes a built-in Micro SD card slot for storing images and other data.
The unit also has a PDM microphone for sound recording, adding more versatility to your projects. At the bottom, the HY2.0-4P port exposes the S3's D+/D- pins, making firmware updates and USB serial communication easy through the M5Grove2 USB-C module. Additionally, two 1 x 3 pin headers allow for downloading ESP32S3 programs.
The factory firmware includes a complete image capture and upload function, called EZData, which makes it simple to set up remote image monitoring with just a few configurations. This makes the CAMS3 ideal for remote monitoring, time-lapse photography, industrial automation, and many other projects.
Note: Here's how to download the program. When using the Grove2USB-C before powering on, short-circuit the G0 and GND pins of the pin header with the provided male-to-male breadboard wire to enter download mode. Then, you can use Grove2USB-C to connect and download.
