Add redundant power to Mini PCs, routers, monitors, CCTV and other barrel jack-powered devices, using multiple power supplies!
Power from the IN1 and IN2 barrel jack connectors goes via MOSFET "Ideal Diodes" to the OUT barrel jack.
The ideal diodes prevent power from being fed back into either barrel jack. It will draw power from the supply with the highest voltage and if the voltages equalise (due to the current draw) it will share the load over both power supplies (droop method).
The connectors accept standard 5.5mm diameter barrel jacks (2.1 or 2.5 mm centre pin).
The device is rated for 5-20 Volts up to a maximum of 5 Amps. When constantly drawing higher currents (> 3Amps) the PCB may get hot to the touch, please ensure there's sufficient airflow to aid cooling.
Each of the inputs has 2 LEDs on the opposite side of the PCB. The LED closest to the OUT jack indicates power is being applied to the input. The second LED indicates power is being drawn from the input. On the underside of the PCB there are solder jumpers which allow individual LED to be disabled by cutting the small trace between the pads (can be re-enabled by soldering both pads together).
The PCB also has 2 pads for both GND and VOUT:
The Dual Ideal Diode Barrel Jack can be used to:
Please note the PCB and LED colour may vary.
