This is the cutest little microSD card reader/writer - but don't be fooled by its adorableness! It's wicked fast and supports up to 64 GB SDXC cards! Simply slide the card into the edge and plug it into your computer. No drivers are required, it shows up as a standard 'Mass Storage' device under any OS. You can swap cards while the USB port is kept plugged in.
Comes with a handy little cord so you can attach it to your datalogger project. Also has a little plastic cover for the USB A connector part so it won't short against nearby electronics.
Max read speed is 16 MB/sec, max write speed is 6 MB/sec - most microSD cards are not this fast so the bottleneck will be the card, not the reader
Does not come with a microSD card! We do carry microSD cards in the shop that go great with the reader.

compared to the much older sd card reader i used to use , the size is tiny and is very handy for slotting in as my computer is under my desk and not much headroom for plugging into usb top slots and reaching around the back of pc was always awkward . now its a breeze with the small size into the top usb slots

It works perfectly and can be left plugged into a Pi keyboard for library space. Small problem - the skinny bit of plastic that holds the string snapped after about 3 pulls. The thing is, just underneath that plastic is the metal plug frame. Please suggest to the manufacturers that they make a hole in the metal so that the string passes through that as well. Otherwise, a fine product.

natty little gadget; not so keen on the blue led that is permanently on.
We went for this more expensive example as another brand stopped working very quickly and wasted a lot of time.
