The ThirdRealityZigbee Motion Sensor is a reliable, pet-friendly motion sensor designed to slot straight into your existing Zigbee smart home. Built on the Zigbee 3.0 standard, it works smoothly with Home Assistant (ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT), SmartThings, Hubitat, Aeotec, Homey, and Amazon Echo devices with a built-in Zigbee hub, making it a flexible choice regardless of the platform you use.
Motion is detected using a PIR sensor with a range of up to 9 metres, while the pet-friendly design helps reduce false triggers from cats and small dogs. Once motion is detected, you can trigger automations such as turning lights on, sending notifications, or starting routines across your smart home. With Home Assistant or Alexa, it’s easy to build practical workflows — from welcoming you home to switching lights or fans off when a room is empty.
Powered by two AAA batteries (included), the sensor is designed for long-term use, with a typical battery life of up to two years. Setup is quick and wireless, with Zigbee auto-pairing and simple mounting using the included adhesive pad or screws.
