The SupTronics X15-F1 is an active cooling module designed for X15xx‑series Compute Module 5 I/O boards (see X1500 and X1501 in the store), and fits inside the dedicated X15-C1 enclosure. It uses an 80x80mm PWM‑controlled fan to deliver significantly higher airflow than typical Raspberry Pi case fans, making it suitable for sustained high-load operation where thermal stability matters.
The fan provides up to 19.68 CFM of airflow, with real‑time speed control via PWM for responsive thermal management. A dedicated mounting bracket allows the fan to sit cleanly above the I/O board without interfering with existing CM5 heatsinks or coolers. Power is supplied directly from the carrier board via a four‑pin fan header.
The X15-F1 is built for continuous operation, with stable performance under full load and vibration‑resistant mounting.
The fan operates from a 5V supply, draws around 0.16A, and runs at up to 2500 RPM with a noise level of 26.3dBA. The slim 10 mm profile keeps the overall footprint compact while still delivering a substantial increase in cooling performance.
Note: Installation does come with a few trade-offs:
IO board, CM5 and case not included.
