This is an LTE Cat-1 HAT, enabling LTE Cat-1, 3G and 2G communication as well as GNSS positioning with your Raspberry Pi.
The board is based on the SIMCom SIM7600E module. With your 1.8V/3V SIM card fitted to the underside of the HAT, the board supports dial-up, telephone calls, SMS, TCP, UDP, DTMF, HTTP and FTP. The GNSS feature supports GPS, BeiDou, Glonass and LBS base station positioning.
There is an onboard USB interface to test AT commands and capture GPS data and more, alongside an onboard CP2102 USB to UART converter for serial debugging. Breakout pins for the UART allow you to use this board with other boards such as the Arduino UNO.
A MicroSD card slot on the underside of the board can be used to store data from your projects such as pictures or messages. The onboard audio jack and audio decoder can be used for making telephone calls.
The board will work with any 40-pin Raspberry Pi and includes male header pins for attaching other devices once the HAT is fitted. Please read the product Wiki for usage instructions.
The board comes with a full set of accessories - an LTE antenna, GPS external antenna, two USB cables and standoff fixings!
LTE Cat-1: Up To 5Mbps (Uplink) / Up To 10Mbps (Downlink) *
3G (HSPA+): Up To 5.76Mbps (Uplink) / Up To 42Mbps (Downlink) *
* stands for idealized data rate, the actual data rate depends on factors like network coverage, traffic congestion, base station condition etc
Supports Communication Protocols Including TCP/UDP/FTP/FTPS/HTTP/HTTPS
Supports GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, LBS Base Station Positioning
