The Shelly4-Channel Decoupler (230V) is an electronic component that interconnects four sets of two separate electrical circuits (AC to DC) by means of a light sensitive optical interface (an optocoupler).
It triggers DC inputs with an AC signal - ideal for isolating and controlling DC loads using existing AC switches - and is compatible with: Shelly Plus RGBW PM, Shelly Pro RGBWW PM, Shelly Plus Uni and the Shelly Plus Add-On.
Use the Shelly Decoupler to connect a standard AC wall switch to the Shelly Plus RGBW PM. This lets the switch send control signals to the device's DC input without feeding it AC power directly, ensuring safe operation and full control of LED strips.

The Decoupler safely converts an AC signal-like one from a mechanical wall switch or relay - into a DC-level trigger input for use with the Shelly Plus Add-On in automations like irrigation or alarms.
Smart Lighting with Your Existing AC Switch
Turn your regular wall switch into a smart lighting trigger. Install Shelly Pro RGBWW PM in your breaker box to control your LED strips. Then, place a Shelly Decoupler near your existing smart device. The decoupler picks up the physical press and sends a command to Shelly Pro RGBWW PM.
This way, your old switch stays in place, but now it can change colours, adjust brightness, or trigger scenes. Clean, simple, and fully smart.

Do not connect the device to appliances exceeding the given max load.
Use the device only with a power grid and appliances which comply with all applicable regulations. Short circuit in the power grid or any appliance connected to the device may damage the device.
Before starting, wire check that the breakers are turned off and there is no voltage on their terminals. This can be done with a phase meter or multimeter. When you are sure that there is no voltage, you can start wiring the cables.
