It is designed as a cost-effective alternative to the HiFiBerry DAC+ for price-sensitive users who don't need all the features of the HiFiBerry DAC+.

Impressive sound quality for a great price. I have tried this board with numerous Raspberry Pi OS versions and all of them seem to work quite well. Overall though I'm happiest with the HiFi Berry OS. It's clean simple and works great for my needs.

I was originally using the 3.5mm jack output to RCA inputs, to a very basic eBay amp. The interference was overly annoying, and increasing the volume just made matters worse. I bought one of these bad boys, hoping for some improvement and I was well impressed with the sound quality. There is now, absolutely no interference whatsoever, I have the volume about a 1/3 of way up, and the wife moans it is too loud. The clarity is superb, highly recommended to improve on the 3.5mm Jack audio feed. Follow the instructions online to set up, and you will not be disappointed… Enjoy

I only bought this because the more expensive DAC+ was sold out. But this still sounds great when connected to some classic 90s hi-fi (Rotel RA-931 amp and Mission 760i speakers).
