The breakout communicates over a 4-wire SPIinterface, making it a great choice for projects where I²C is unavailable or already in use. It tracks seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year with automatic leap-year compensation up to 2099. All DS3234 pins are broken out and the board is fully breadboard compatible, ensuring easy integration into both prototypes and finished designs.
A built-in CR2032 battery holder (battery not included) keeps time running even during power loss, while 256bytes of battery-backed SRAM allow you to store critical data persistently. Additional features such as two programmable alarms, square-wave and 32.768 kHz outputs, and an integrated temperature sensor make this breakout a versatile and dependable solution for precise timekeeping projects.
