The newly updated DFRduino Mega2560 enhances its VIN power supply circuit by replacing the traditional LDO with a DC-DC circuit, significantly improving safety and reliability. This change not only addresses overheating issues but also broadens the input voltage range, allowing the board to operate even with just a 3.7V lithium battery.
This microcontroller, based on the ATmega2560, provides full compatibility with the Arduino MEGA2560 platform. It is equipped with 54 digital I/O ports, 16 analogue input ports, 4 UARTs (hardware serial ports), and a 16 MHz crystal oscillator. The Mega2560 includes a bootloader, providing direct program downloads via USB. You have the flexibility to power the board using a USB cable, a standard adapter, or an external battery. It also features 256KB of FLASH memory—doubling that of the Mega1280—providing decent space for larger and more complex projects.
