An anemometer is a device used for measuring wind speed, and is a common weather station instrument. This well made anemometer is designed to sit outside and measure wind speed with ease.

To use, connect the black wire to power and signal ground, the brown wire to 7-24VDC (we used 9V with success) and measure the analog voltage on the blue wire. The voltage will range from 0.4V (0 m/s wind) up to 2.0V (for 32.4m/s wind speed). That's it! The sensor is rugged, and easy to mount. The cable can easily disconnect with a few twists and has a weatherproof connector.

This anemometer is not IP rated, so it is not designed to withstand water ingress without additional gasketting or protection.

Anemometer Wind Speed Sensor w/Analog Voltage Output
Yes it's up and running had to alter the program a couple of times, floats, variables, to get more accurate readings but a vast improvement on the digital setup, not as much code in fact about a tenth as with the digital pulse out anemometer, and a lot of circuit using a picc , with the analoge anemometer just an arduino nano, now working on a bluetooth connection so I do not need to go into the porch to get a reading. I would recommend this anemometer to anyone thanks Dave.

Tested using vacuum cleaner on blow n using a wind gauge + volt meter got o/p over 2v. Eventually be using an op amp comparator to work relay to lower solar arrays at high wind speed.

Study and seems well made - instructions sparse and could do with a simple test method example - I won't tell it's working properly till I get into my 1st project - have lashed up 9v battery and multimeter but no means a conclusive test
