Get started with Adafruit.io using this Feather HUZZAH ESP8266 IoT starter kit. Sense light, motion, humidity and temperature, then send data online and trigger LEDs, sound or a motor. Feather included, but no USB cable, breadboard or LiPo battery. Some soldering required.
If you’ve signed up for Adafruit.io and want to start building something fun and Internet-connected, this starter kit gives you a solid set of sensors and parts to get going. You can measure things like light, motion, humidity, and temperature, then send the data to Adafruit.io for storage. You can also trigger outputs like LEDs, sound, and a motor when something changes.
This kit is designed for makers who want to use the low-cost Adafruit Feather HUZZAH with ESP8266 Wi-Fi, and are comfortable using that platform to explore IoT projects. A Feather HUZZAH development board is included, so you don’t need an Arduino or any other microcontroller.
Please note: this pack does not include a USB micro-B cable (any sync + charge cable is fine — not charge-only), a solderless breadboard, or a LiPo battery. You’ll need a USB cable to program and debug the Feather HUZZAH, and you’ll need either USB power or a LiPo battery to run it. You may also want a full-size breadboard and some prototyping wires. Some soldering is required to assemble the Feather HUZZAH ESP8266 and the HDC1008 sensor.
