This flexible 8×8 NeoPixel matrix packs 64 ultra-bright LEDs onto a bendable PCB and runs from a single data pin. It can draw up to 4A at full white, isn’t cuttable, and is recommended for advanced users only.
For advanced NeoPixel fans, here’s something extra fun: a bendable, flexible 8×8 NeoPixel LED Matrix. It packs 64 ultra-bright LEDs onto a thick flexible PCB that can be gently curved around surfaces, making it great for creative lighting builds and shaped displays. You control the whole matrix using a single microcontroller pin, and you can set each LED individually to scroll messages, draw patterns, or animate small images.
It works just like any other NeoPixel-compatible product, but it comes with serious power requirements. With all 64 LEDs showing bright white at full brightness, current draw can reach up to 4A. For power, you can use a 5V 4A, 5V 2A, or even a 5V 10A supply. If you want to run it portably, and you’re keeping current draw below 3A, a 5V @ 3A UBEC is a good option.
If you like flexible matrices, there are other sizes available, including an 8×32 version (great for that 4:1 aspect ratio) and a larger 16×16 option.
Important note: flexible PCBs are not designed for repeated bending. While it can be used in projects where the matrix is curved or wrapped, there are no guarantees or refunds if LEDs or traces crack due to flexing. This is intended for advanced users who are comfortable working with NeoPixels, handling high current safely, and protecting the matrix from damage. There are no returns, refunds, or replacements for a damaged product. Also, you cannot cut these panels into custom shapes, since the data and power lines run through the entire PCB.
