This battery holder connects 2 AA batteries together in series for powering all kinds of projects. We spec'd these out because the box is fairly slim, and 2 AA 1.5 cells add up to about 3V for many low voltage electronics projects, plus it has a nifty on-off switch.
Fits any standard AA battery. When using rechargeable NiMH batteries you'll see ~2.4V output, or use with 1.5V alkaline cells for ~3V output.
This is great for the micro:bit because it has an on-off switch built in so you don't have to yank it out to turn off the power, and the AA batteries will last 3 to 5 times longer than AAA.
The connector on this battery holder is female (no pins). We offer a male socket cable to go with it, just be sure to check the polarity matches as there still appears to be no standard with JST polarity - the wires can be easily swapped by lifting the small metal tabs and moving the wires.
