The Grove WiFi 8266 module is designed to enable your micro:bit (when combined with an EDU:BIT), Raspberry Pi Pico and Maker Pi RP2040 (and other controllers too!) to send and receive data over the internet through a Wi-Fi network.
The board is based on Ai-Thinker's ESP-12F module and comes preloaded with the new Espressif ESP-AT firmware v2.2.0.
When used in conjunction with the Cytron EDU:BIT via the Grove cable, the MakeCode extension can help you get straight to building your awesome micro:bit IoT projects with this super intuitive drag-and-drop programming interface.
There's also a CircuitPython library and it works with Telegram, Blynk and ThingSpeak too!
All the pins of the ESP-12F are also extended out to the standard 2.54mm (0.1") pitch-to-pitch through-hole pads, should you need to access them.
We've also created the CircuitPython libraries for Raspberry Pi Pico and RP2040 devices. You can plug in the Grove WiFi 8266 module directly onto the Maker Pi RP2040 via any of the Grove ports, enabling it for IoT applications.
By utilizing the MakeCode extension & CircuitPython libraries, you can monitor your sensor data on ThingSpeak easily. ThingSpeak is available as a free service for non-commercial small projects. You can send up to 3 million messages a year or about 8,200 messages a day, with a 15 seconds message update interval limit.
Grove WiFi 8266 enables your non-IoT enabled controller boards connect to the internet. With Blynk, a user-friendly IoT platform, you are able to control the connected projects and read data from the sensors easily.
Telegram API is also supported by our MakeCode extension & CircuitPython libraries. You can deploy a secret compartment keeper to guard your precious chips and notify you via Telegram whenever the drawer is opened or closed.
