As technology changes and adapts, so does Adafruit! Rather than the regular USB A, this cable has USB C to USB C plugs!
USB C is the latest industry-standard connector for transmitting data and power. Like Lightning and MagSafe cables, USB C has no up or down orientation. And who among us has inserted USB correctly the first time? Works great with any device that has a USB C port.
This cable is a little more expensive than most USB cables because it has all the data pins connected, so it can be used for any USB C device, with any power or speed requirements. The internal wires are 32 AWG. It also includes an EMARK chip, required by the USB C specification but sometimes left out. That means you can use this for high current (5A) charging. It is not for use as a DisplayPort cable.
This cable is 1 meter long, so you get just the right amount of length for your project. We also have a 6" long cable.
