The Raspberry Pi Camera v2 is the new official camera board released by the Raspberry Pi Foundation.

The Raspberry Pi Camera Module v2 is a high quality 8 megapixel Sony IMX219 imagesensor custom designed add-on board for Raspberry Pi, featuring a fixed focus lens.

The Raspberry Pi Zero now comes complete with a camera port! Using the new Raspberry Pi Zero Camera Adapter, you can now use a Raspberry Pi camera to your Zero

It'scapable of 3280 x 2464 pixel static images, and also supports 1080p30, 720p60 and640x480p90 video.

It attaches to Pi by way of one of the small sockets on the board upper surface and uses thededicated CSi interface, designed especially for interfacing to cameras.

Q: Thanks for the information on the new Oi Camera. Do you sell a version of this with an extended ribbon cable say 300mm long rather than the existing 150mm

Q: Just a quick question, I order three items 2 at the same time and one a bit later in the day. I was charged posted for each transaction, but it came in the same package, not happy about this.

A: I am still waiting for an item ordered some months ago. Like you I ordered 3 items but was only charged one lot of postage. However I am still unhappy about not getting everything I asked for and am considering further action.

A: well I assume that the first order was packed up and sent to the post room for posting early in the day.
Then later in the day the next order was delt with and so a 2nd package was prepared, so therefore 2 packages means 2 postal charges.
Don,t worry about it you will get quality goods from PI HUT and thats more important than a little extrta postage charge.

Q: Is this compatible with the Pi Zero's (CSI?) port?

A: Yes. The V2 modules are compatible and work brilliantly on both but ... the CSI port on the Zero is physically smaller. The camera module I received had a ribbon cable that fits the larger Pi and I got one specific to the Zero.

Q: Is this camera IR or non IR

A: This camera has the basic colour hi resolution sensor. If you want the infra red version you need the NOIR camera which has had the infra red filter removed.
