The Keywave KW307 is a compact 24GHz RF-based human presence and occupancy sensor designed for accurately tracing moving and stationary humans in indoor and outdoor (when inside an approriate IP-rated enclosure) applications.
Built upon a custom-designed sensing SoC and proprietary mathematical signal algorithms, the KW307 delivers real-time spatial coordinates (±5 cm distance, ±3° angle) and multi-target tracking for up to 3 individuals with ultra-low power consumption. It combines radar signal processing, target detection, and human presence intelligence inside a compact module, allowing you to add reliable spatial sensing without developing complex radar mathematics from scratch.
The sensor provides real-time target location information, including distance and angle, allowing connected systems to respond more intelligently to where people are located. Its configurable sensing range, field of view and sensitivity make it suitable for home automation, lighting systems, HVAC control, appliances and other human-aware devices.
Its compact design, fast response and simple system integration help you develop smaller, cleaner and more intelligent projects - and the pre-soldered 2.54mm headers let you get started straight away using a breadboard for prototyping. Development resources are available on Github.
No (but kind of yes as well!).
It's a 24GHz sensor, however mmWave is usually technically described as 30-300GHz, corresponding to wavelengths of 10mm down to 1mm. At 24 GHz, the wavelength is about 12.5 mm, so it falls just outside that definition.
However, in maker terms, this will be used in the same way - accurately detecting presence and occupancy - and the 24GHz radar is useful for home automation projects with up to 20m detection and a 100° FOV.
