These key dampeners slightly reduce the noise of key presses on the Raspberry Pi 500+.
Installed behind each key, the O-rings subtly reduce key noise, taking an edge off the 'click' as it bottoms out. The key feel is also slightly softer as a result, with the O-ring cushioning the key as it is pressed. It's very subtle, and at first, it's hard to notice (don't expect silent keys!), but after running a blind key test with a mix of normal/dampened around the office, everyone managed to identify the cushioned keys the first time.
They're easy to install too - simply use the key puller included with your Pi 500+, fit the O-ring to the key cap, and pop it back in. Be sure to push the O-ring all the way to the bottom. Official instructions on changing/removing keycaps can be found here.
You get 200 key dampeners in the pack. Considering the Pi 500+ has 85, 85, or 88 keys (depending on the variant), you can convert two Pi 500+ units with a single pack and have some spares left over.
