Displaying images
Matt Hawkins has done a brief tutorial on using the software package ‘fim’ to display images on the command line. He’s also included a nifty example of converting your image to ASCII art!

Model behaviour
Dave Featherston has taken a Pi, a couple of stepper motors (with driver boards), some wood, some toothpicks and some straws, soldered up a couple of bits of perfboard, added a buzzer and created this rather neat level crossing. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMJyFkuUDO4&w=600]
