This 48W Soldering Station is a fantastic beginners soldering station - it's been produced by DIY electronics enthusiasts for DIY electronics enthusiasts. With its analogue temperature control it can be used with both standard 60/40 solders as well as higher melting point lead-free solders. It is also very useful for soldering electronic components with high thermal sensitivity! The station comes complete with Soldering Iron, Cleaning Pad, Iron Safety Holder, Temperature Controller and 1.5mm Pointed Tip!

How Does it Work?
By using the analogue temperature control on the top of the station it is possible to vary the temperature continuously between 150°C and 450°C. Soldering at the correct temperature is very important to ensure a perfect solder joint. If the temperature is too low the solder will not flow correctly and will cause cold solder joints. If the temperature is too high the flux will be burned and not allow the solder to flow. High temperatures can also cause damage to the PC Board and other sensitive components. Many solders specify the tip temperature to use. A common tip working temperature of 60/40 solder is detailed below (this may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer):
- Solder Melting point - 215°C
- Soldering Tip Temp - 215°C-300°C (normal operation) / 320°C-380°C (production line operation)
- Desoldering Tip Temp - 315°C (small joints) / 400°C (larger joints)
