Raspberry Pi Reaction Speed Game Kit

Raspberry Pi Reaction Speed Game Kit

Remember Whac-a-Mole; that waist high arcade cabinet full of pesky rodents, and a big black mallet designed to smash them into oblivion? You'll often see modern science exhibitions featuring a newer iteration, with walls covered in buttons, the aim being to bash them in sequence as fast as possible in order to test the user's reaction speed and hand eye co-ordination.

We're pleased to announce that we've designed a tabletop version coutesy of the Raspberry Pi! Challenge your friends and family to test their reaction timing and stamina whilst casually showing off your electronic engineering and coding skills! Of course, you can scale this kit as large as you want, all you need are some BIGGER BUTTONS!

This is a DIY kit that uses basic electronic components like leds, switches and resistors and some simple Python code to get you started with physcial computing and the Raspberry Pi. The build process is designed to be educational as well as fun, and is suitable for all levels of expertise, from beginners to pro's. We've coded a simple Python script that makes the buttons flash one by one in a random sequence - the aim being to bash them as fast as possible. At the end the user will be rewarded with a score based upon how fast they bashed those buttons. The code is simple, clearly explained and can be modified to change the rules of the game!
