That means you can have it alert your project when something moved in the frame. The lens is manually adjustable, it has a 1-15 meter focal distance by default which is good for most projects.

We also carry a much larger, but enclosed weather-proof version.

Using the module is pretty easy and only requires two digital pins (or a TTL serial port) - by default it transmits at 38400 baud. For that reason, we like using the 4050/74LVX245 series and similar logic to perform proper level shifting. The only problem is that they are only good in one direction which can be a problem for some speciality bi-directional interfaces and also makes wiring a little hairy.

That's where this lovely chip, the TXB0104 bi-directional level converter comes in! This chip performs bidirectional level shifting from pretty much any voltage to any voltage and will auto-detect the direction. The only thing that doesn't work well with this chip is i2c (because it uses strong pullups which confuse the auto-direction sensor) or control lines with a lot of capacitance on them. If you need to use pullups, you can but they should be at least 50K ohm - the ones internal to AVRs/Arduino are about 100K ohm so those are OK! It's a little more luxurious than a 74LVX245 but if you just don't want to worry about directional pins this is a lifesaver!

Since this chip is a special bi-directional level shifter it does not have strong output pins that can drive LEDs or long cables, it's meant to sit on a breadboard between two logic chips! If you do not need instant bi-directional support, we suggest the 74LVX245 as below which has a stronger output drive.

This breakout saves you from having to solder the very fine pitch packages that this chip comes with. No external crystal or tuning capacitors are required.

The MAX31328 has an internal crystal and a switched bank of tuning capacitors. The temperature of the crystal is continuously monitored, and the capacitors are adjusted to maintain a stable frequency. Other RTC solutions may drift minutes per month, especially in extreme temperature ranges. The ChronoDot will drift less than a minute per year. This makes the ChronoDot very well suited for time critical applications that cannot be regularly synchronized to an external clock. They'll light up when connected to an SSID, or transmitting data.

Features

FCC-certified 802.11bgn WiFi module from Atmel

SPI communication with 6-wire connection

Compatible with Arduino M0 and M4 boards

12MHz clock speed for reliable packet streaming

Supports WEP, WPA, and WPA2 encryption

TLS 1.2 security support (firmware 19.4.4)

Soft AP mode for ad-hoc networking

Level shifting for 3V or 5V logic compatibility

3.3V voltage regulator with 300mA spike handling

Powered from 3-5.5VDC input range

3 controllable LEDs for connection and data transmission status

Fast network scanning and connection in seconds

SSL support included

Specifications

Product Dimensions: 33mm x 28mm x 4mm

Weight: 4.4g

Revision History

As of October 27, 2023 - we've updated this PCB with Adafruit Pinguin to make a lovely and legible silkscreen - you may get the new PCB or the older version with vector fonts - both are identical other than the fancy silkscreen.

Resources

Datasheets

Guide: Adafruit ATWINC1500 WiFi Breakout

Package Contents

1x Adafruit ATWINC1500 WiFi Breakout

1x Header Strip

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0176/3274/files/adafruit-atwinc1500-wifi-breakout-adafruit-ada2999-1233370042.jpg?v=1776775990
adafruit-ds3231-precision-rtc-breakout
Adafruit DS3231 Precision RTC Breakout

The DS3231 Precision RTC Breakout delivers highly accurate timekeeping with built-in temperature compensation and battery backup—perfect for clocks, data logging, and projects that need reliable time even without power.

The datasheet for the Adafruit DS3231 explains that this part is an "Extremely Accurate I²C-Integrated RTC/TCXO/Crystal".
